These lovely cheerful Fuchsias look even brighter with the fire engine red coffee pot. It was my red phase! That was it ! Just one painting then back to my normal palette.
I think almost everyone who ever painted has at one time or another tried to capture the exuberance of the sunflower. This is one attempt I plan others like when I finally get myself over to Florence to see the sunflower fields in that legendary Italian light.... Ah well I can dream!!
The hopeful vibrancy of the first primroses peeking out from the dark winter devastation is always heart-warming. Whatever the weather out they peak signalling the possibility that one day it will stop raining and it will be warm once again... hopefully.
They never look the same when you get them home. The magic colours seen on the beach seem to dullen most disappointingly. I tried to recapture some of the colour and texture of this cheerful bunch of shells from Ventry...
